GILBERT BRADSHAW

Thomas Gilbert Bradshaw, 74, of Sambo Lambert Road, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Gilbert was the son of the late Raymond and Cora Sutton Bradshaw, born in Sampson County on June 7, 1935. He was retired from Wilson Construction, where he built bridges. Gilbert was a carpenter by trade and worked with the Wayne County Fairgrounds for 25 years. He loved meeting new people and enjoyed fishing. Gilbert attended Riverside Free Will Baptist Church in Princeton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lois Bradshaw; a son, Stephen Gilbert Bradshaw and wife, Donna, of Grantham; a daughter, Tina Peele and husband, Scott, of Grantham; three brothers, Rudolph Bradshaw, Arie Bradshaw and wife, Lib, and Shelton Bradshaw; four sisters, Lacial Weaver, Nelda Phillips, Ruth Lipscomb and husband, Chris, and Shelbe Sasser and husband, Sebron; five grandchildren, Tabatha Hollingsworth and husband, Hal, Michele Best and husband, Kevin, Alyssa Bradshaw, Miles Bradshaw and Megan Peele; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew and Levi Hollingsworth; and his special cat, "Kitty."
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Scott Peele, 275 Selah Church Road in Grantham.
