MOUNT OLIVE -- Mary Bevan Boyd Southerland, 63, of 470 Cricket Ridge Road, died Friday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at The Lord's Table church, 1215 Parkway Drive in Goldsboro.
The Rev. Charles Kirkland will conduct the service. Following the service, the family will receive relatives and friends. At other times, they will be at the home of her father at 400 West Main St. in Mount Olive.
She had been employed as a social worker with the County of New Hanover.
Her mother, Margaret Tart Boyd, preceded her in death, and she is survived by her father, Shelton Boyd of Mount Olive; two daughters, Emily Gray and husband, Tom, of Wilmington, and Kelly Berdine and husband, Rai, of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Debbie B. Pierson and husband, Wayne, of Clinton; and two grandchildren, Diego and Sofia Briceño.
