JAMES EDWARD STRICKLAND

GRANTHAM -- James Edward Strickland, 62, died on Sunday, Nov. 8, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with visitation immediately following. Entombment will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Officiating will the the Rev. Jackie Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Addie Mae Strickland and a brother, Elton Strickland. He had been employed with J.P. Stevens Co. for many years and recently retired from Cooper Standard.
Surviving are three sisters, Myrtle Thompson of Mount Olive, Lena Mae Venable and husband, Joe, of Dudley, and Barbara Pipkin and husband, Rodney Sr., of Pikeville; three brothers, Bob Strickland and wife, Faye, of Mount Olive, Carroll Strickland of Mount Olive, Raven Strickland and wife, Golette, of Dudley; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are being received at the residence of Mrs. Myrtle Thompson, 316 West Station St., Mount Olive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534 in memory of Addie Mae Strickland.
