WALTER L. BASS

Walter Lynn Bass, 57, 307 Vinwood Ave., passed away suddenly Wednesday.
A service to celebrate his life will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating.
Walter was born in Wayne County Dec. 12, 1951, to the late Ruby Lee Rose of Goldsboro.
He was working as an electrician with Wayne Electric Co. and had done so for more than 30 years.
Walter served his country in the United States Army.
Walter is survived by his wife, Rita Gayer Bass; his son, Lynn Bass of Goldsboro; his brothers, Billy Earl Bass and wife, Heidi, of Georgia and Nick Rose and wife, Teresa, of Dudley; his sisters, Edith B. Walker of Goldsboro, Alice B. Sugg and husband, Toodle, of Goldsboro and Becky B. Tippett and husband, Wade, of Asbury; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Wayne County Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
The family will receive friends today following the memorial service and other times at the home of Alice and Toodle Sugg, 309 Vinwood Ave. in Goldsboro.
