MASTER SGT. (RETIRED) KENNETH MCRAE

Died Oct. 7, 2009

Kenneth McRae passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral service will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 200 N. James St., Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Princeton.

Due to his distinguished military career, Ken will be buried with full military honors.

Ken served 21 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant and he worked for 36 years at the Kinston Post Office.

In addition to his loving wife, Jo-Ann, of 55 years, he is survived by daughters, Debby Hickey of Goldsboro, Kimberly and her husband, Ken Pohlig, of Raleigh, and Vanessa Fletcher and Danny Cook from Pikeville; grandchildren, Rebekah Hickey, Eric Hickey, Hunter Fletcher, Chris Pohlig, and Nathaniel Pohlig.

Visitation with the family will take place in the common room of the church one hour prior to the funeral service at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kenneth McRae to the Kitty Askins Hospice Center Building Fund at 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory, 1500 Wayne Memorial Drive in Goldsboro.
