MOUNT OLIVE -- James "Jim" Carol Rose, 62, passed away Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rose Family Cemetery, Crows Foot Road in Mount Olive.
Jim was born in Wayne County Aug. 16, 1947, to Myarl Rose and Sallie Williams Rose.
He worked as an engineer with Merck Pharmaceuticals in Wilson.
Jim was a member of Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a Sunday school teacher.
Jim is survived by his wife, Cheta Yelverton Rose; his stepchildren, Tina Patterson and husband, Shane, David Bass and wife, Susie, Toby Bass and Stormy Bass; his children, Donna Herring and husband, Frankie, and Carolyn Rose-Seed and husband, Eli; his step-grandchildren, Trisha Blackman, Sterling Blackman, Tristan Patterson, Cortlin Patterson, Trey Bass, Jacob Radford and Tyson Carter; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Taylor Bryan, Morgan Herring, Paige Herring, Daniel Herring, Isabel Rose Seed, Flora Mae Seed and David Edward Seed; and his sisters, Annette Woods and husband, Bob, and Cathy Raynor and husband, Tony.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of his sister, 676 Crows Foot Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thunder Swamp Pentcostal Holiness Church in the name of Jim Rose.
