GEORGIA H. CLOUTIER
April 18, 1946-Sept. 28, 2009
SANFORD -- Surrounded by loving family, Georgia Howard Cloutier, 63, passed away Monday following a courageous and valiant battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3204 Keller Andrews Road in Sanford. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 400 Murchison Road in Spring Lake.
Georgia was born April 18, 1946, in Raleigh.
Georgia graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh in 1964 and Mars Hill College in Mars Hill in 1968.
Following a brief career as a school-teacher, she was employed with the North Carolina Department of Corrections, eventually becoming a superintendent of Women's Prison in Raleigh. She continued her career with the North Carolina Department of Justice as an instructor/coordinator at the North Carolina Justice Academy in Salemburg and as the director of the sheriff's standards division of the North Carolina Department of Justice.
Following her retirement from the North Carolina Justice Academy in October 1999, she was employed for several years as a teacher with the Even Start Adult Education Program at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford.
Georgia had an intense love for people and concern for their individual happiness. She enjoyed music and loved playing the piano, which was enjoyed by many, especially by the members of her church.
She had a great love of Christmas, which was reflected in her many beautifully-decorated Christmas trees.
But most notable was her deep and abiding love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, a love she vocally testified on numerous occasions.

She is survived by her husband, Dave F. Cloutier of Sanford; son, Dave and wife, Tonya Cloutier; son, Michael Cloutier; her grandchildren, Austin, Ashlee and Sydney Cloutier all of Goldsboro; sisters-in-law, Tanya Graham, Terry Glenister and Donna Cayton all of Greenville; stepfather and mother-in-law, Frank and Carolyn Webb of Pikeville; special nieces and nephews; and other family members and many special friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Elouise Howard of Raleigh, and her sister, Barbara Weeks of Sanford.
Visitation will be held Wednesday at Miller-Boles Funeral Home, 1150 Fire Tower Road in Sanford from 6 to 9 p.m.
