ROBERT C. BLUE

MARION, S.C. -- Robert C. Blue, formerly of Goldsboro, died Tuesday at his home.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Blue, son of Frank Lee and Elizabeth Cash Blue, was born Dec. 1, 1920, in Fairmont.

He graduated from Fairmont High School and the University of North Carolina.

He served in the United States Army in World War II, where he participated in five battle campaigns in the Pacific Theatre.

He was employed with Williams, Urquhart and Ficklen, certified public accountants in Raleigh, from January 1946 to July 1955, at which time he took the position of chief financial officer with T.A. Loving Construc-tion Co. in Goldsboro. He held that position until his retirement in 1993.

He was a former member of Hiram Masonic Lodge 40 in Raleigh, New Hanover County Shrine Club of Wilmington, Goldsboro Rotary Club, Goldsboro Elks BPOE Lodge 139, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Marion, S.C., Presby-
terian Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Roberta Blue Pense and husband, Guy, and granddaughter, Julie Pense, all of Reston, Va.; a stepdaughter, Kathy Snipes and husband, Wendell, of Marion, S.C.; a stepson, Randy McIntosh and wife, Cindy, of Marion, S.C.; six stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchldren; and good friends, Wayne and Sharon Owens of Nichols, S.C.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Bullock Bracy Blue of Rowland; his second wife, Kathryn Kirby Blue of Marion, S.C.; two brothers, Frank L. Blue Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fla., and George K. Blue of Union, S.C.; and a sister, Frances Blue Nelson of San Francisco, Calif.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Richardson Funeral Home of Marion.
