Elmer Lee Mozingo, 82, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late George Frank and Rosa Bell Mozingo and the husband of the late Edna Rogers Mozingo.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country during World War II and Korea.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was the first employee hired at the then newly-opened Sam's Club of Goldsboro and was employed as a door greeter.

Mr. Mozingo is survived by his children, Ronnie Douglas and Phyllis Mozingo of Benson, Danny Ray Mozingo and Katie Merritt of Golds-boro, Teresa Devonne and Gerald Smith of Charlotte and Brenda Lee and Daniel Peters of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Amanda Gayle Mozingo of Goldsboro, Kari Ann Mozingo of Laurinburg, Devin Gerald Smith of Charlotte, Jonathan Matthew Peters of Goldsboro and Macy Katherine Peters of Goldsboro.

In addition to his parents and wife, Elmer was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Family members will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. in the church prior to the funeral service and at other times at the home, 314 Hill St., Goldsboro.
