COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Betty Grace Rich Raynor, wife of ISG Luby "Ray" Raynor (U.S. military retired), formerly of Magnolia, was called to be with the Lord at her South Carolina residence at 5:35 p.m. on Sept. 3, 2009, at the age of 72 following a long, courageous battle with lupus, heart disease and diabetes.
Banker funeral home of Kershaw, S.C., has graciously received and will transport Mrs. Raynor to her home state of North Carolina, where a service will take place in Newton Grove with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, located on 701. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening and funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m.; both are being handled by West and Dunn Funeral Home, 503 Raleigh St., Newton Grove, N.C. 28366; (919) 594-1004.
Betty Grace (Rich) Raynor leaves to cherish her memory to her loving husband, Luby "Ray" Raynor; daughter, Betty Ann Raynor-Davis, wife of Johnny Michael Davis of Camden, S.C.; sons, Donald Ray Raynor, David Allen Raynor and Michael Lynn Raynor, all of Columbia S.C.; grandsons, Christopher Michael Mack and Jesse Allen Mack of Columbia S.C., Tech Sgt. Robert Webb Mack of Hampton, Va., member of the United States Air Force and currently deployed to Kuwait, and Daniel Jacobo Romero-Raynor of Caracas, Venezuela; granddaughters, Jessica Leigh Davis and Mrs. Jennifer Marie Andrew, wife of Jay Robert Andrew of Elgin, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Marie Davis, Elizabeth Grace Davis and Ethan Robert Andrew. Betty was predecased by four brothers, James Albert, Norman Earl "Tom," Bennie Alger and William Raeford Rich; and four sisters, Virginia Louise, Elizabeth, Francis and Tessa Rich, all of North Carolina.
