EDGAR L. YELVERTON

Edgar Lee "Bones" Yelverton, 76, Isler Street, passed away Sunday evening at his home.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Cecil and Rosa Johnson Yelverton.
Edgar was a dedicated employee of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Wayne Memorial Park for more than 61 years.
Edgar is survived by a son, Anthony Yelverton; four daughters, Derosa Washington, Cynthia Smith, Sharon Waring and Patricia Taylor; three brothers, Eugene Yelverton, Leslie Yelverton and Herman Watson Jr.; five sisters, Gaynell Uzzell, Doretha Lewis, Carolyn McCoy, Joanne Daughtry and Linda Brown; one aunt, Ethelene Y. Lewis; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family members will greet friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his brother, Leslie Yelverton, 1223 S. Andrews Ave., Goldsboro.
