Jerome Lofton Sr., 92, 1026 James St., departed this life June 14, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at noon at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, 203 S. George St. Dr. Dwight Cannon, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Wood Cemetery. The body may be viewed at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Monday from 3 until 7 p.m., and a wake will be held at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church from 11 a.m. until noon on Tuesday prior to the funeral.
Mr. Lofton is survived by his son, Jerome Lofton Jr. and wife, Joy; and his long-time companion, Nancy "Sugar Babe" Ward; nieces, nephews; other relatives; his extended church family in the Zion connection, and Masonic family.
