TERESITA A. MEACHUM-WASHINGTON

DUDLEY -- Teresita A. Meachum-Washington, daughter of the late Alfredo Alejandro and Arsenia Salinas Alejandro, was born April 7, 1944, in Manila, Philippines.

Teresita lived in the Philippines until she moved to the United States in 1968. She departed her earthly life Sunday in Dudley.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US 117 south in Dudley.

She was fondly known as Auntie Teri by her family and friends, whom she loved dearly. She always had a smile on her face and an infectious laugh that lit up a room no matter where she was.

She met her husband, Arthur, in the summer of 1985 and it had been true love ever since. They shared many joyous occasions over their 24 years together.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Arthur Washington of the home; adopted mother, Geraldine R. Thornton of Durham; one daughter, Diedra E. McAllister and husband, Mitchell R. McAllister, of Fredericks-burg, Va.; three sons, Wilson V. Eagleson IV and wife, Amy B. Eagleson, of Plattsburg, N.Y., Thomas P. Meachum and wife, Verna Meachum, of Goldsboro and Roy A. Meachum of Plattsburg, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; five sisters; three brothers; two special nieces; a special nephew; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins, who reside in California, District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Philippines, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia; and many devoted and loving friends.

The family will receive friends at Howell Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
