GEORGE M. SOUTHERLAND

George Malcolm Southerland, 68, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery.
George was born in Wayne County June 13, 1940, to the late Needham Malcolm Southerland and Hannah Potter Southerland.
He was a retired mechanic.
George is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jackson Southerland; his son, Malcolm Southerland; and his grandchildren, Brittany and Elijah and special friend, Michelle and children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Southerland Gates.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC, 27534.
The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at Malcolm's home, 1105 E. Walnut St., Goldsboro.
