LEONARD O. STEVENSON

JACKSONVILLE -- Leonard O'Rion "L.O." Stevenson, 85, died Saturday at Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, with Dr. John Kerr officiating. Burial followed at Onslow Memorial Park.
Mr. Stevenson was the son of Leonard O'Rion Stevenson Sr. and Lula Chappell Stevenson of Winnsboro, S.C.
While attending Clemson College, he joined the United States Air Force and became a bomber pilot. He was stationed in England during World War II and was a member of the 8th Air Force.
Mr. Stevenson had been an auto dealer in Jacksonville for 57 years and had the distinction of being the oldest dealer in North Carolina.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Jacksonville Host Lion's Club and Semper Fidelis Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Laura Grant Stevenson; two sons, John O'Rion Stevenson and his wife, Susan, of Swansboro and Jerry Scott Stevenson and his wife, Christine, of Jacksonville; three granddaughters, Shelley Carlisle of Swansboro, Laura Booth Parker of Morehead City and Laura Alexis Stevenson of Jacksonville; one grandson, Barringer Grant Warlick Stevenson of Jacksonville; one great-grandson, Ernest Linwood Parker IV of Morehead City; two sisters, Emmy Lou Fellers of Clinton, S.C., and Miriam Breckenridge of Columbia, S.C.; and one brother, Donald Stevenson of Winnsboro, S.C.
The family received friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
