FAISON -- Margaret Williams Whitman, 81, 456 Tom Hill Road, died Thursday night at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Tyndall Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery near Seven Springs. The family will greet friends at the cemetery at the conclusion of the service.
Mrs. Whitman was preceded in death by her son, Nathan Scott Whitman; her husband, Rodney Whitman; her parents, John Robert and Bessie Kornegay Williams; two sisters, Ruby W. Smith and Lillie T. Williams; and five brothers, Paul Williams, David Williams, Bill Williams, Christopher Williams, and Silas Williams.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Betty Faye Williams of Mount Olive, and Polly Williams of Faison; several nieces and nephews, including Eddie Ray Williams of Faison, to whom she was also a friend and care-giver to Eddie and his family, Paulette Williams of Goldsboro, Evelyn Riggs and husband, Charles, of Kinston, Jimmy Williams and wife, Dianne, of Faison; several great-nieces and nephews including Michelle Bradshaw and husband, William; several great-great-nieces and nephews, including Brittia and Zackary Bradshaw; two granddaughters, Beverly Ann Whitman and Melissa Carol Whitman of Raleigh; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are being received at the home of Eddie Ray Williams, 448 Tom Hill Road, Faison.
