Michele Lynn Strickland, 32, of Raleigh passed away on Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was employed with the North Carolina Dep-artment of Transportation.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Joyner officiating.
Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Ms. Strickland is survived by her mother, Renea Cruse and husband, James, of Goldsboro; her father, James "Al" Strickland Jr. and wife, Donna, of Goldsboro; a brother, Austin Strickland of Goldsboro; two sisters, Jamie Weeks and husband, Allan, of Goldsboro, and Emily Strickland of Goldsboro; paternal grandparents, James A. Strickland and wife, Nancy, of Goldsboro, and Ann L. Coker of Raleigh; and paternal great-grandparents, Eva Lockey of Morehead City.
Ms. Strickland was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert Cooper and Alice Newcomb; and maternal great-grandparents, Taylor and Bertha Sipfle; and paternal great- grandfather, Gordon Lockey.
