Maureen and Bill Scott lost their very special and beloved son, Billy, Thursday when he died at Wayne Memorial Hospital of complications from pneumonia.
The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2718 Overbrook Drive, Raleigh.
Billy was born Aug. 17, 1960, in Elizabeth, N.J. He moved to Raleigh with his family in 1961.
At the age of eight, due to severe disabilities, Billy went to live at O'Berry Center, where he spent the remainder of his life in the care of wonderful, loving people.
Billy is survived by his parents, Bill and Maureen Scott; his sister Susan Daly and her husband, Bob; his brother, Sean Scott; and his four nephews, Scott Daly, Ryan Daly, Matthew Daly and Sean Daly, all of Raleigh.
The family would like to thank most especially the staff of unit 7-6 at O'Berry for its constant and compassionate care of Billy during his prolonged illness.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road.
