MINISTER MAIDA UZZELL BROWN

Minister Maida Uzzell Brown, 64, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Minister Brown," of 504 Park Ave., was called by our Heavenly Father to his final resting place on Wednesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
Maida was born in a Christian home in Wayne County. She was the daughter of the late Mamie Steward Uzzell and Nester Uzzell.
She was educated in the Wayne County Public School System. Maida attended Central High School but she graduated from Norwayne High School in 1964.
Minister Brown was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Onza Lee Brown Sr. on Jan. 5, 1970.
She worked and retired from Textilease after 35 years of service.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the White Oak Grove OFWB Church with Bishop Leamon Sykes officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Ceme-tery. A viewing will be held on Monday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 1 until 4 p.m. Also, a wake will be conducted at the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Deliverance from 6 until 7 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Onza Lee Brown Sr. of the home; two sons, Tony D. Uzzell and wife, Denetta, of Seattle, Wash., Onza Lee Brown Jr. of the home; one daughter, Angela Underwood of Goldsboro; three brothers, Nester Uzzell Jr. of Norfolk, Va., Napolean Uzzell and wife, Essie, of Snow Hill, Darius Uzzell and wife, Catherine, of Mount Olive; six sisters, Betty Jean Uzzell, Darline Grace Goode, Carolyn Faye Uzzell all of New York, Diana Uzzell of Pikeville, Mamie Geneva Johnson and husband, Clarence, of Winston Salem, and Arlethea Roberts and husband, Lester, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one aunt, Minnie Evans of Cleveland, Ohio; two special cousins, Ethel Mae Baldwin and Sally Sutton; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Lillian Brown of Goldsboro; three sisters-in-law, Betty Brown Bailey, Essie Uzzell and Catherine Uzzell; several devoted nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. Onza Brown, Sr., 504 Park Ave., Goldsboro.
