MINNIE BOGUE ELOSHWAY

Jan. 16, 1926-April 7, 2009

The Lord called home one of his most faithful servants, Minnie Eloshway, on Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Willliam Arthur and Hettie Omega Davis Bogue. Minnie was the loving, compassionate and devoted wife of Gene Eloshway for 59 years.

Minnie had a deep personal faith in God which she enjoyed sharing with others. Her life itself was a testimony of her powerful faith. She was truly a blessing to those whose lives she touched. Minnie was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, and was recently presented with an Honorary Life Membership by the Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian Church. This award of recognition brought her great joy.

Minnie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gene; her son, Greg, and wife, Claire, and their daughters, Katlyn, of Faison, and Lyndsey and husband, Craig Lee, of Clayton; her daughter, Terri, and her husband, Gary Cangelosi, of Huntersville, and their children, Courtney, Trevor and Kelsey.

We have all been honored to call her wife, mother and grandmother and sister. Her sisters Doris B. Parris of Stantonsburg, Eloise B. Futrell of Bethel, Ruth B. Davis of Wilson and Myra B. Horton of Greenville survive.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilbert and Marvin Bogue; and four sisters, Sally Futrell, Margaret Batts, Irene Hamrick and Grace Reid.

The family is exceedingly grateful for the loving and special care that Lula Mae McClain, Peggy Edwards, Gayle Pate and Lori Jones provided to Minnie. The caring and tender acts of mercy from all of the staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center will forever be appreciated and remembered.

The family will receive friends at the home, 212 Daniel Drive, on Thursday. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash St., Goldsboro. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in McChesney Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Youth Mission Fund, 1101 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Minnie's favorite Bible verse was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

What a joy it is to know that we, her family, will one day have the privilege of joining her in our Father's everlasting heavenly kingdom.

Condolences may be made through www.evergreenmemorialservice.com.

Arrangements are being handled by Evergreen Memorial Service, Goldsboro.
