Died March 28, 2009

PIKEVILLE -- Fannie Edmundson Hare, 94, of 664 Nahunta Road, died Saturday morning at Countryside Living.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove FWB Church with the Rev. Barry Stallings and the Rev. Dr. Gerry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mamie Lancaster Edmundson and the widow of Rufus Hare. Mrs. Fannie, as she was known by her many friends, was a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church, the ladies auxiliary, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Fannie is survived by her daughter, Betty Parker and husband, Ralph, of Wilson; son, Dr. Dwight Hare and wife, Jaynie, of Starsville, Miss.; sister, Esther Virginia Davis and husband, Bernice, of Fremont; and her grandchildren, Mary Carla Hollis and husband, Christopher, Lee Carpenter and wife, Caroline, Daniel Edmundson Hare, and Nathan Allen Hare; great-grandchildren, Elliot and Aaron Hollis.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hare was preceded in death by her sisters, Nora Bogue, Lillian Davis, and Henri Sasser; brothers, John Edmundson and Buck Edmundson.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and will be at the residence at other times.
