EMELDA B. SNELL

DUDLEY -- Mrs. Emelda Belanger Snell, 100, passed away on Thursday at her home.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Snell was born in Ogemaw, Mich., on Oct. 26, 1908, to the late Alfred Belanger and Bernice Pierce Snell. She was married to the late Kenneth Gorden Snell. Mrs. Snell was the oldest member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 11 in Goldsboro.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Snell of Dudley; her daughters, Arlene Jones of Holland, N.Y., Kathleen Williams of Lyndonville, N.Y., and Joyce Weed of Tupelo, Miss.; her sister, Corrine Good of West Branch, Mich.; her foster brother, Jack Belanger of West Branch, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Snell was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Hook.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1201 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Goldsboro, N.C.
