ELLEN S. MASSENGILL
Died Feb. 27, 2009
Ellen Sutton Massengill, 64, of 215 S. Douglas St., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
The family will receive friends today from 4 until 6 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home with burial following at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Massengill was born in Wayne County to the late Theodore and Lydia Jernigan Sutton. She was raised in the Grantham community and worked with SouthCo Distributing Company. Mrs. Massengill was a member of United in Christ Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Massengill; one son, Michael Massengill and wife, Carla, of Goldsboro; one daughter, Cynthia Ballard and husband, Donnie, of Goldsboro; one brother, James Shelton Sutton of Grantham; one sister, Lynn Hartley and husband, Stanley, of Dobbersville; and five grandchildren, Skylar, Connor, Taylor, Stalen and Dylan.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in Ellen's memory, 930 B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C. 27834.
