VONNIE M. BROCK

Vonnie Mae Wise Brock, 98, 493 Paul Hare Road in the Grantham community, passed away Tuesday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Goldsboro with bishop Gary Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late William David and Nora Bertha Edwards Wise, wife of the late Johnnie Daniel Brock and mother of the late Doris Brock Britt.

A housewife and farmer, she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she was past president of the Relief Society and was a former Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Brock is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Lola Mae Brock, Mangrum and Joyce Brock all of Grantham, Billy and Barbara Brock of Dudley; two daughters and sons-in-law, Merlene and Seth Best, Linda and T.J. Daniels all of Grantham; one brother, Everette Wise of Grantham; two sisters, Mildred Bennett and Nora Lee Bennett, both of Grantham; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Family members will greet friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church and at other times at the home, 493 Paul Hare Road in Grantham.
