WILSON -- John Franklin Barfield Jr., 65, died Tuesday.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in Maplewood Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Wells officiating.
Mr. Barfield is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Bengoa of Rochester, Pa., and Shelly Pond and husband, Travis, of Washington, D.C.; five granddaughters, Lauren Bengoa, Katlin Bengoa, Kenly Milam, Hannah Pond and Sarah Pond; and a sister, Norma Parrish and husband, Donald, of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin Barfield Sr. and Annie Liggon Barfield.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
