LILLIE M. TODD

Lillie Matthews Todd was born July, 26, 1904, in Bertie County and died at 3:30 p.m. on Monday at Kitty Askins Hopsice Center in Goldsboro.

Friends are invited to visit Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton. A celebration of Lillie's life will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Hampton, 514 S. Armistead Ave. Interment will be Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 10 a.m. in Hampton National Cemetery.

Lillie was the daughter of the late Rev. Jesse R. and Mary Jane Matthews.

Lillie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hampton, Va. and a member of the Haw/Wyatt Bible Class and Circle No. 3-4. Lillie had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge IOOF, which she joined in Hawaii in 1925.

Lillie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lt. Col. James C. Tod,d and her beloved son, Capt. James C. Todd Jr.

Lillie is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" T. and Lt. Col. James L. Herlihy; five grandchildren, J. Michael Herlihy and wife, Terri, of New Bern, Mary H. Flint and husband Peter of Loveland, Ohio, Daniel T. Herlihy and wife, Judy, of Goldsboro, Katherine T. Mohan and husband, Jeff, of Haymarket, Va., and Dr. James C. Todd III and wife, Mary Lynn, of Salisbury, Md.

She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by other relatives and friends, Anne-liss Flanders and husband Ray, Lou Carlisle, and Michelle Kriner and husband, Jay.
