THE REV. EZRA B. FANN

The Rev. Ezra Bryan Fann, 93, was promoted to Heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008.

The Rev. Fann was born in Cumberland County on July 21, 1915 to the late Samuel A. Fann and Mattie Bryant Fann. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired minister having served the Pentecostal Holiness demonination for 25 years. The Rev. Fann was a graduate of Holmes College of the Bible. He had also worked as an IBM typewriter mechanic for his business, Fann's Typewriters.

The love of Ezra's life was God, family and friends. He never gave up or let go of his firm belief in the power of prayer. Ezra's determination to let it be God's will was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a homegoing service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jimmy Whitfield, the Rev. Raymond Potter and Bishop Chris Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery.

The Rev. Fann is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donnie Lee Fann; and his son, Bryan Fann of Wilmington. He is also survived by his devoted friends and caregivers, Charles and Sandra Coletrain.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
