FREMONT -- Richard Ervin Proctor, 55, 1091 Highway 222 E. passed away Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
Richard was born in Wayne County on Nov. 30, 1952, to Isabel Jones Proctor and the late Leland Proctor.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Susie S. Proctor; two sons, Jamie Proctor and Shannon Proctor, both of Fremont; two brothers, Larry Proctor and his wife, Brenda, of Pikeville and Michael Proctor, of Newport; three sisters, Margie Toler and her husband, Billy, of Elm City, Shirley Winders and her husband, Ricky, of Kenly and Connie Kidd and her husband, Richard, of Fremont.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service Tuesday evening and other times at the residence.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in memory of Richard Proctor, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
