PIKEVILLE -- Evelyn Juanita Radford, 74, a resident of Countryside Assisted Living went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 7 at the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
Juanita was a member of Fremont Free Will Baptist Church where she served on the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving sister and aunt and loved to play bingo.
Juanita was born to the late Charlie and Bessie Radford Jones. She was preceded in death by five sisters; four brothers; her children, Frances Lane and Jerry Radford; and one great granddaughter, Tracey Mangum.
She is survived by her sisters, Isabelle Proctor, of Fremont, Irene Whitehurst of Kenly and Edna Cates, of Chesapeake, Va.; her grandchildren, Larry Lane Jr. of Grantham, Jerry Lane, Christy Graham, of Dudley and Frannie Mangum, of Tennessee; nine great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service this evening and other times at the residence of her niece, Linda Beasley, 1328 Hinnant Road in Pikeville.
