Mr. Fred Cicero Dobey, 77, 617 Gloucester Road, died Tuesday at Wake Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Fred was born in Lexington, N.C. on Dec. 24, 1930, to the late Oren Estel Dobey and Addie Mae Brogden Dobey and was married to the late Betty Latimer Dobey. He retired as sales manager with Goodyear Tire Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Goldsboro Host Lions Club in which he was honored with the Jack Stickley Fellow. Mr. Dobey served his country through the United States Air Force. Fred was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Fred is survived his wife, Alice Stafford Dobey; his daughters, Carol D. Crossno and husband, Kenneth of Kinston and Barbara D. Ferguson and husband, Geoffrey of Mechanicsville, Va.; his grandchildren, Candace C. Friedman and husband, David, Lauren Elizabeth Crossno, Rebekah Ann Ferguson, Andrew Stuart Ferguson and Graham Sheffield Ferguson; his brothers, Estel Dobey of Welcome and Rex Dobey of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine D. Troutman.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 and the American Heart Association, P O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va., 23058.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530; and at other times at the home.
