ALEX R. HARRISON

SNOW HILL -- Mr. Alex "Al" Richard Harrison, 70, passed away Tuesday.
Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery with his nephew Mr. Jeffery Harrison officiating.
A native of Greene County, he was born April 19, 1938, the son of the late Guy and Mable Jones Harrison. Following four years of service in the United States Air Force, he returned home and began working with E.I. DuPont in Kinston where he remained until his retirement after 39 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dalton Harrison; and sisters, Evelyn Harrison Smith and Joyce Harrison Kornegay.
His surviving family includes his sisters, Faye Harrison Varnell and husband, Jerry of Smithfield, Va., Deborah Harrison Hill and husband, Tommy, and Margie Harrison Taylor and husband, George all of Snow Hill; a sister-in-law, Helen Moore Harrison of Walstonburg; a brother-in-law, A.P. Smith of Goldsboro; and his many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who referred to him as "Unk."
The family will receive friends at times other than the service at the home of Tommy and Deborah H. Hill, 854 Jesse Hill Road, Snow Hill, N.C.
Arrangements are being handled by Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.
