JOHNEY L. MANNING

PRINCETON -- Mr. Johney Leroy Manning, 86, 458 Bridgers Road, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Rev. Pete Norris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Newsome Family Cemetery.

Mr. Manning was born on Nov. 1, 1921, in Lenoir County to the late John Leonard Manning and Bernice Ham Manning. He was married to the late Mary Smith Manning. Mr. Manning was a member of Brodgen Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Mr. Manning is survived by his daughters, Mary Elizabeth Brady, of Princeton and Linda Kay Blankenship, of Maiden; his sons, Lloyd Leroy Manning, of Burlington and John Gary Manning, of Wallace; his sisters, Grace Moye, of Four Oaks, Teeny Johnson, of Four Oaks and Frances Radford, of Hoebucken; his brothers, Matthew Manning, of Wisconsin, Doug Manning, of Florida and Ray Manning, of Columbia, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Faye and a son, Connie Alvin; a granddaughter, Laurie Boggs and a great-grandson, Gib Martin.

At other times, the family will be at the home of Mary "Liz" and Thomas Brady, 1616 Old Rock Quarry Road, Princeton.
