L.T. JONES

SEVEN SPRINGS -- L.T. Jones of 105 Easy St., died Tuesday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive with the Rev. Sam Jones officiating, after which the family will receive friends. At other times, they will be at the residence. Committal and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Jones Family Cemetery on Mary Tate Road, Pink Hill.

Mr. Jones, 83, was a retired farmer, welder and mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Faye J. and Jimmy Alphin of Seven Springs; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas and Marie Jones of Pink Hill, Leroy Jones and Charles Hilton Jones, both of Seven Springs; two sisters, Thelma Bridgers and husband, Calvin of Raleigh, Hazel Taylor of Pink Hill; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

His wife, Barbara Whaley Jones; his parents, Robert Tate Jones and Mary Jane Brown Jones; a grandson, Ricky Jones; a sister, Ruby J. Hunter; and three brothers, Arthur Jones, Johnny Jones and Elbert Jones, preceded him in death.
