PRINCETON -- Elinor Rowen Howell, 89, of 1120 Bug Shop Road, died Tuesday at her home. She was born in Winchester, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Patrick Henry and Catherine McGoldrick Rowen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Eugene Howell; and two sisters, Mary Murphy and Dorothy O'Hare. She was a member of the Hephzibah Baptist Church, the Baptist Women and the Community Gospel Singers.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Casey Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Munday and the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Committal service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Princeton Cemetery.

Mrs. Howell is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jean Howell Moore and Gary of Smithfield, Linda Howell Weiner and Jeff of Cary; two grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Mathew Weiner and Christina of Charlotte, Jonathan Weiner of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hephzibah Baptist Church Building Fund or Johnston Memorial Home Care and Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, and immediately following the funeral service at Casey Funeral Home.
