HAROLD JACKSON MCROBERTS

PIKEVILLE -- Harold Jackson McRoberts, 82, went to be with his Lord on Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Harold was born in Beckley, W.Va., to the late Herbert E. McRoberts and Lillie Dunnagan McRoberts. He retired as a superintendent from Franklin Baking Company with 25 years of service and had also worked with Sunbeam in Beckley, W.Va., with 29 years of service.

Harold was a faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church. Harold's passion was golf. If it was a beautiful day, he enjoyed being on the links sharing shots and laughter with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Harold is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie Norman McRoberts; his son, Kevin McRoberts of Dudley; his daughters, Linda Stroud and husband, John, of Daniels, W.Va., Karen Williams of New Bern; his grandsons, Fred Williams and wife, Jennifer, of Apex, Christopher Williams of Greenville; his granddaughter, Cynthia Gerau and husband, Mike, of Daniels, W. Va.; his great-grandchildren, Claire and Jillian Gerau.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Williams; his three brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
