Paul Oris Howell Sr., 78, died Sunday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Paul was born in Wayne County to the late Redden Howell and Fannie Davis Howell. He was married to the late Esther K. Joyner Howell. Paul was a retired foreman with Seegars Fence Company. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. Paul retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 23 years of service.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Nancy Howell-Wolfe and husband, Kelly Wolfe; his daughter-in-law, Sharlene Howell; his sisters, Iva Pittman of Goldsboro, Marjorie Pike of Pikeville, Betty Clyde Edmundson of Wilson; and his grandchildren, Gerard Tart and wife, Shannon, and great-grandson, Liam, Adam Wolfe and wife, Brenna, Shawn Howell and wife, Karen, and great-granddaughter, Isabel Howell, and Timothy Howell; and a special friend, Johnnie Robbins of San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul O. Howell Jr. and his grandson, Matthew Howell.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 1808 Azalea Drive, Goldsboro, N.C.
