THOMAS B. DAWSON

Thomas Bernard Dawson, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Bernard," passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2007, as an angel of peace came quietly and called our loved one home.

Bernard was born in Wayne County on May 6, 1951, to the late Harold Edward "Bud" Dawson Sr. and Virginia Mae Knight Dawson.

Bernard graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1969. He earned his Bachelors of Science from Morgan State University, Baltimore, Md., in 1974.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. from Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. with the Rev. William P. Rich, eulogist. Also, a viewing will be held, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, one hour prior, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, N.C.

Bernard leaves to cherish his memory, his brother and sister-in-law, Harold Edward Dawson Jr. and Sandy Dawson of Fort Washington, Md.; his cousins, Elizabeth Annette Dawson Lanier of Fayetteville, N.C., Christopher Earl and Elaine Dawson of Atlanta, Ga., Sheila Blanks and Ivan Dawson, both of Goldsboro, N.C.; his nephew, Harold Edward Dawson III, of Arlington, Va.; his nieces, Krystal Dawson of Los Angeles, Calif., Danielle Burwell and husband, Jessie, of Washington, D.C., Sharonetta Sloan of Bowie, Md., Dawn Beverley and husband, Scottie, of Fort Washington, Md.; and a host of cousins, great-nieces, extended family and friends.
