Homegoing services for Herman Hines will be held on Thursday at noon from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Hines was the son of late Jesse and Carneza Wade Hines. He was a member of Pentecostal Holy Church in Goldsboro and retired from the State of North Carolina with O'Berry Center.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Lucy Lane Hines; three sons, Michael Hines Sr. and his wife, Ruby, of Fayetteville, Herman Anthony Hines Jr. and his wife, Alice, of Goldsboro and Dr. Shelton Hines of Los Angeles, Calif.; one daughter, Stephanie Hines of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence.
