Alison Leigh Edwards Gooding, 35, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday after a courageous battle with cancer at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Alison was a born in Wayne Coun-ty to Milo Edwards of Goldsboro and Linda Carter of Mount Olive. She was a graduate of North Duplin High School and worked in the home caring for her family. Alison lived on this earth for a short time, but she lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Evans officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Newcomb Cemetery in Seven Springs.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, George Ellis Gooding; her sons, Ryan Chase Fields and Westleigh Ellis Steve Gooding; her brother, Matthew Edwards of Hampstead; her stepbrother, Matthew Carter of Goldsboro; her sister, Nicole Hill of Goldsboro; and her stepfather, Vincent Carter of Mount Olive.

The sickness and death of Alison has been a hardship, therefore the family would appreciate any memorials be given to her husband to help with needs for her funeral and for their children.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 105 J.J. Lane, Goldsboro.
