On July 24, the Lord called Lucy Cobb home to enter into a land free from pain, sickness, suffering, sorrow and death.

Homegoing services will be held on Monday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ in Goldsboro. Bishop Alton A. Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Lucy was born October 24, 1924 in Harrisburg, Pa., to the late Carrie Long and William Rubert Betts. She was a member of St. Mark Church of Christ where she served in the usher ministry.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons and two daughters-in-law, Marshall Alston of Brooklyn, N.Y.; William and Minister Sandra Alston of Goldsboro, and Fletcher and Robin Cobb of Washington, D.C.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Rachel Alston of Stone Mountain, Ga., Evangelist Janice and Minister Donnie Robinson of Fredericksburg, Va., Shelia and Verne Harden of Fredericksburg, Va., and Felicia Walker of Goldsboro; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one adopted goddaughter, Tammy Jones; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends; and special friends, Bessie Patrick, Lacy Laprade and Rosalie Reddick.

Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by one son, Warren Alston.

Professional services are entrusted to Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro where the viewing will be held today from 4-6 p.m.
