IMOGEN C. WITHERS

WINSTON-SALEM -- Imogen Claytor Withers, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007. She was a resident of Salemstowne. Mrs. Withers was born in Lynchburg, Va., to the late Andrew Boyd and Emily Minnigerode Claytor. She was a watercolor artist. Mrs. Withers was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Percy Lawson Withers.

Funeral services will be held at the Home Moravian Church in Winston-Salem on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.

She is survived by her three children, Emily Withers York and husband, Charles, of Goldsboro, N.C., Kate Withers Oates and husband, Hugh, of Cape Coral, Fla., David Lawson Withers and wife, Sally, of Swannanoa, N.C.; six grandchildren, Lawson Scott Oates, Charles Allen York, Katharine Oates Brower, Emily York Perry, Mary Katharine Withers, and Eleanor Grace Withers; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew Boyd Claytor III of Lynchburg, Va., and William Minnigerode Claytor of Roanoke, Va.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Salemtowne Retirement Community in Winston-Salem, N.C., the Arts Council of Wayne County, 2406 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534, Home Moravian Church or a charity of your choice.
