BETTIE SUMMERLIN DAIL

May 1, 1925-July 6, 2007

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Bettie Mae Butts Summerlin Dail, 82, died Friday night at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington.

She was a member of the Seven Springs Missionary Baptist Church, daughter of the late Lonnie and Sally Mooring Butts, widow of John Henry Summerlin and Thomas E. Dail. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Mamie Lillian Butts and Sally Annie Ruth B. Wadsworth; and brothers, Paul David Butts, William "Bill" Butts, Jesse Butts, Horace Milton Butts, and Lonnie Ray "Dock" Butts.

Surviving are four step-children and step-children-in-law, Martha Helen Dail of Greenville, Sandra Faye and Al Braden of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; Thomas Earl and Debbie Dail Jr. Seven Springs, Lisa Jo and Randy Brown of Deep Run; several nieces and nephews including Ruby Dean Jones of Pink Hill; a brother, George Washington Butts of Smithfield; a sister, Kathleen Butts Capps of Maury; a brother-in-law, Carl Dail of Seven Springs; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. on Monday at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs. Visitation will be today from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
