VERNA B. IVEY

LA GRANGE -- Verna Barwick Ivey, 98, of 3804 Kennedy Home Road, died Wednesday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Ivey was born in Lenoir County to the late Johnnie and Amy Sutton Barwick. She was wife of the late Livingston Ivey and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leigh Coltrain; sister, Jessie Howard; and two brothers, Carson Barwick and Wilson Barwick. Mrs. Ivey was a lifelong homemaker and a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. from Pinelawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Adam Brinkley officiating.
Mrs. Ivey is survived by a daughter, Gail Coltrain of La Grange; a grandson, Edward Coltrain of La Grange; two special caregivers, Verna Whitfield of Deep Run and Margo Morris of Kinston.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home of Gail Coltrain, 3802 Kennedy Home Road, La Grange.
