NEW HILL -- Walter Henderson Fields, 78, died Wednesday in Moncure. He was born in Goldsboro to the late John Henry Fields and Minnie Sarah Stanley Fields Ivey. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Abner, Marvin, Earl and Johnny Fields.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Shallow Well Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Visitation will be at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, 600 W. Main St., Sanford, Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
He is survived by sons, Ronnie Walter Fields of North Carolina, David Richard Fields of Snow Camp, Jerry Stevenson Fields of New Bern; daughters, Theresa Collins of Knightdale and Anita Fields of Harrisburg, Va.; brother, Elmer Fields of Hampton, Va.; sisters, Judy Price of Angier, Gladys Edwards of Goldsboro, Myrtie Hunt of Clayton, Vayria Whitley of Snow Hill; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
