KENLY -- Rosa Baker Barnes, 87, 585 W. First St., died Monday at home. She was born in Johnston County to the late Joe Mack and Fannie Baker.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, Fremont, with the Rev. Daniel Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard R. Barnes; five daughters, Martha Robinson of the home, Kathleen Mooring and husband, Lewis, of Fremont, Gail Pate and husband, Kenneth, of Lucama, Alene Mooring of Goldsboro and Lois Gardner and husband, Billy, of Chadbourn; special friends and caregivers, Louise Wood and Ann Bunch; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bessie Mae Stanley; one brother; and three sisters.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St., Fremont, and other times at the residence.
