RAYMOND G. CRITES

Raymond Gene Crites, 76, 1905 Carolina Circle, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Floyd and Geraldine Robishaw Crites. He retired with 20 years of service from the U.S. Navy. He had also retired from Carolina Power and Light Co., with 27 years of service and was a former employee of Daly RV, with 10 years of service. He attended the Princeton Church of God.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. John Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.

He is survived by his wife, Neda Pearce Crites; sons, Raymond Gene Crites Jr. and wife, Susan, of Kannapolis, Roger Crites and wife, Debbie, of Midland, and Rhea Chears and wife, Susan, of Smithfield; daughters, Frances Gardner and husband, Bob, of New Bern and Peggy Pierce and husband, Kenneth, of Elizabeth City; sister, Betty Robinson of Newton Falls, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Crites.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Alton Woodard Sunday School Class 34 of the Princeton Church of God, P.O. Box 546, Princeton, N.C. 27569.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
