RAYMOND A. NOVICKI

CAPE CARTERET -- Raymond Anthony Novicki, 84, of Cape Carteret died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

He was the son of the late Leonard and Katherine Novicki and was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Tony, and his sister, Stacia. He served in the Marine Corps in the Soloman Islands during World War II, was a member of St. Mildred's Catholic Church in Swansboro and was an avid golfer at Kinston Country Club and Star Hill Golf Course.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home, with Father Don Baribeau officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday night at Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Dawson Novicki; sons, Raymond Junior of Southern Pines, Mike and wife, Barbara, of Goldsboro, Greg and wife, Sue, of Pink Hill and Jeff and wife, Karen, of Wilmington; five grandchildren, Josh, Alan, Paul, Scott and Sara Novicki; two step-granddaughters, Jessica and Jordin James; and a brother, Fred Novicki of Plymouth, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534, or to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, 2200 W. Main St., Suite A230, Durham, N.C. 27705.

Edwards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
