VELMA G. SMITH

DUDLEY -- Velma Grady Smith, 84, a resident of the Brian Center, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was born in Duplin County to the late Ed F. and Minnie Sullivan Grady and was married to the late Wymond L. Smith. She was retired from Barry Manufacturing of Goldsboro and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, David Markley Smith and wife, Jan, of Grantham and John David Smith and wife, Brenda, of Dudley; her daughters, Frances and husband, Ray Boseman, of Dudley and Bertha Faye and husband, Donnie Hill, of Grantham; her brothers, Edward C. Grady of Albertson, Dan H. Grady of Calypso and Ernest C. Grady of Kenansville; her sisters, Elizabeth Garner of Fuquay-Varina and Jane Holmes of Mount Olive; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of John and Brenda Smith, 862 Pecan Road, Dudley.
