PLEASANT E. HARRELL

WILSON -- Pleasant Earl Harrell, 85, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Joyner's Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park

Mr. Harrell served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. For this he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He married Esther Howard in 1945 and lived in Wilson until his death. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church serving on various boards and committees.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie Esther Howard Harrell; two daughters, Patsy Harrell Sauls and husband, Allan, of Fremont, Brenda Harrell of Wilson; a son, Phil Harrell of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter, Julie Sauls Head and husband, Anthony, and a great-granddaughter, Lindsey Head all of Fremont.

The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and at other times the family will be at 1904 Oakdale Drive.

Flowers are welcome or memorials in his memory may be directed to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 202 N. Kincaid Ave., Wilson, 27893.
