SANFORD - Esther Lett Yarborough, 95, 2109 Oriole Circle, died Sunday at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro. She was born in Lee County to the late Willie Puzie and Verta Cox Lett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Yarborough; daughters, Dolly Stone and Marguerite Hargis; and son, David "Pete" Yarborough. Mrs. Yarborough was the oldest member of Juniper Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Juniper Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Hall and the Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by four daughters, Elsie Y. Wicker of Goldsboro; Helen Y. Maddox and Sadie Y. Ryals, both of Sanford, Belle Y. Jones of Greenwood, S.C.; a son, Elbert Yarborough of Durham; three sisters, Cleo Byrd and Selma Cummings, both of Lillington and Violet Gilmore of Sanford; brother, Gilbert Lett of Sanford; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of Sadie and Pete Ryals, 2109 Oriole Circle, Sanford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Baptist Women's Mission of Juniper Springs Baptist Church, 852 Buckhorn Road, Sanford, 27330. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
